Electricity in our life - Lesson 2

Lesson 2
2.1 Essential Question:
             
ELECTRICITY DO WE USE IT IN  THE RIGHT WAY?

2.2 Grouping Strategy:
           
Based on the topics provided students are divided into 9 groups with 5 students in each group. Students are from various categories including boys and girls without considering their academic performance. An efficient leader is selected who is able to manage the entire process with the project, collect ideas and bring into proper conclusion.

2.3 Learning Environment:
           
Though the project is conducted in the classroom environment it is also extended to the society. Posters about the various stages to be completed during the project are displayed on the walls of the classroom. Sufficient meetings are conducted. Once in a week presentations regarding the status of the project is carried out for the entire class.

2.4Assessment Approach:
                2.41 Authentic Assessment:
To test the basic knowledge about electricity among the students.
To tabulate the number of electrical appliances in their houses.
To create awareness among the public about the shortage of electricity.
           
2.42 Formative Assessment:
           
Team wise submission of reports based on the topics provided.
Presentation of the topic by any member of the team .
Check the originality  of the datas  collected.
Prepare a data analysis sheet,and arrive at conclusion.


2.43 Summative Assessment:
Power point presentation of the topic.
Presentation of the topic in the blog.
Submission of the reports of survey.

2.45 Gradings:
Each group is provided with separate grading sheets
Grades are based on the  timely submission of the project reports
Grades are mainly concerned about the originality of the datas.
