2.1 Essential Question:

             

ELECTRICITY DO WE USE IT IN  THE RIGHT WAY?

2.2 Grouping Strategy:

           

Based on the topics provided students are divided into 9 groups with 5 students in each group. Students are from various categories including boys and girls without considering their academic performance. An efficient leader is selected who is able to manage the entire process with the project, collect ideas and bring into proper conclusion.

2.3 Learning Environment:

           

Though the project is conducted in the classroom environment it is also extended to the society. Posters about the various stages to be completed during the project are displayed on the walls of the classroom. Sufficient meetings are conducted. Once in a week presentations regarding the status of the project is carried out for the entire class.

2.4Assessment Approach:

                2.41 Authentic Assessment:

To test the basic knowledge about electricity among the students. To tabulate the number of electrical appliances in their houses. To create awareness among the public about the shortage of electricity.

           

2.42 Formative Assessment:

           

Team wise submission of reports based on the topics provided. Presentation of the topic by any member of the team . Check the originality  of the datas  collected. Prepare a data analysis sheet,and arrive at conclusion.

2.43 Summative Assessment:

Power point presentation of the topic. Presentation of the topic in the blog. Submission of the reports of survey.

2.44 Rubrics:

PPT Data collection sheet Newspaper reports Questionnaire

2.45 Gradings:

Each group is provided with separate grading sheets Grades are based on the  timely submission of the project reports Grades are mainly concerned about the originality of the datas.

Project Plan

(1.1)The Define Phase

(1.11)Introduction:

To make the students  understand the basics of Electricity and electrical components. To create awareness among the students about the over usage of Electricity,and about the wastage of electricity To provide tips for saving Electricity and promote its efficient usage

(1.12)Project Scope:

Students of class VII A are selected. The subject covers a part of their curriculum based on Electricity "ELECTRIC CURRENT AND ITS EFFECTS" Students are made familiar with the common electrical components and their symbols . Skill of designing a simple circuit by their own is tested Discussion of the problems faced by the country due to the shortage of electricity. Finding out the solution for the problem by providing tips to conserve electricity.

(1.13) Curriculum and Standards:

·         A wide study is preferred for the project. ·         Proper knowledge about the circuit symbols and basic electronic components ·         Designing of simple circuits using these basic components. ·         Need to conserve electricity. ·         Outcomes of wasting electricity; suggestive measures for conserving it.
